The Cogel Phelps Building is located at the corner of Main Street and East Avenue in Red Wing. It was a Historic Remodel Project which consisted of several adjacent buildings that had seen many years of hard use and abuse, including multiple fires during their many years. The project scope was to bring these buildings back to their “Glory Days” using as much of the existing materials as possible to recapture the “Old Rivertown” flavor. After extensive demolition work revealed the old buildings secrets and sins, it became apparent that the new intended use of the buildings would require major structural revisions as well. Cosmetically and structurally the old buildings were slowly coaxed back to life. The beautifully restored Cogel Phelps building now anchors a strategic corner on the main corridor of Red Wing.
